HOUSTON - Photos of a 5-year-old Houston girl being attacked by a goose are going viral.

Summer is recovering from a few scratches after an unpleasant encounter with a goose. Her sister, Stevie Gidden, shared photos of the goose attack on Twitter, which have received more than 45,000 retweets and 59,000 likes.

"Summer got attacked by a duck today & the pictures our neighbor got of it happening make me laugh so hard," Gidden tweeted.

Gidden said her brothers and sisters were outside playing with the neighbor's kids. They saw ducklings, one of which appeared to be injured.

"They were following it to make sure it was OK, and apparently, they got a little too close because the momma goose went after them," Gidden said. "Summer was the littlest and the slowest, so the goose got her."

The goose flew up and grabbed part of Summer's hair in its mouth.

One of the neighbors helped Summer, while another one snapped photos.

"Five minutes after it happened, she was fine. She has a few scratches, but that's all," Gidden said.

We asked Gidden if her sister was aware of how many people have now seen the photos.

"Summer knows she's famous and she's eating it up," Gidden said.

We're all glad Summer is OK.
