HOUSTON - Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak will rejoin the team Monday and take over the helm as the Texans play Oakland on Sunday, Local 2 Sports has learned.

Local 2's Randy McIlovy reports that defensive coordinator Wade Phillips will handle Monday afternoon's press conference, then Kubiak will resume his head coaching duties.

Kubiak collapsed on the field at halftime on Nov. 3 vs. the Colts and Reliant Stadium. Doctors say he suffered a mini-stroke. Kubiak spent nearly two days in a local hospital, then went home to recover.

Phillips took over for the second half of the Colts game, in which the Texans lost, and he was the interim head coach during Sunday's 27-24 loss to the Cardinals, the Texan's seventh straight loss.

The Texans (2-7) host the Raiders (3-6) Sunday at Reliant.
