Teen, man injured in drive-by shooting in southwest Houston

HOUSTON – A teenager and a man were injured Tuesday during a drive-by shooting at an apartment complex in southwest Houston, police said.

Witnesses told investigators that around 8:45 p.m. the 15-year-old and a 22-year-old man were playing basketball in the parking lot of the San Marcos Apartments in the 6300 block of West Bellfort Avenue when a gray Toyota sedan drove by and someone inside the vehicle opened fire, shooting both of the males.

The two were taken to hospitals with serious injuries. They are expected to survive, according to police.

The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
