Fire forces high school evacuation

SPRING, Texas - A high school was evacuated Thursday because of a small fire.

Spring Independent School District officials said the fire happened in north side of the building at Spring High School, 19428 Interstate 45 North, about 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Officials said the flames were quickly extinguished and there was some ceiling tile damage on the second floor of the building.

Since it was close to dismissal time, the students were released for the day.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
