HOUSTON - A Galleria-area townhome went up in flames on Monday afternoon.

Houston firefighters battled flames at a home on Post Oak Timber near Post Oak Lane about 3:15 p.m.

Bright orange flames shot out of the roof of the home while a large column of black smoke grew.

The homeowner said he kept a 1968 Cadillac in the garage. When he started it, flames shot through the hood and spread to the home.

No one was inside the home at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.

Several neighboring units sustained smoke and water damage.
