FBI: Man carjacks driver after robbing bank

CYPRESS, Texas – A man held up a Cypress bank on Monday afternoon and carjacked a driver during his getaway, detectives said.

FBI officials said a man walked up to a teller at the Wells Fargo Bank on the Northwest Freeway near Spring Cypress about 12:15 p.m.

The man handed over a threatening note demanding cash, investigators said.

Detectives said the teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and the robber left the bank.

No injuries were reported.

Investigators said the robber carjacked two people as he got away. The car he stole was later found abandoned, officials said.

The robber was described as black with a dark complexion, in his late 20s to early 30s, 5 feet 5 inches to 6 feet tall and 200 pounds.
