The father of a boy Down syndrome is thankful to have his son’s beloved tablet back after he left it on the street near a hospital last week.

Andrew Flanagan posted a message on a local Facebook group last Tuesday, explaining that he had accidentally left his son’s stroller with the tablet inside near CHI St. Luke’s, in Conroe.

“Huge long shot here,” Flanagan wrote. “…I parked the stroller behind my truck and loaded up my son and his bag. Then I ran around to start the truck and get the AC going and the music started for him. Then I went back to fold up the strol... oh... wait... ohhhhh nooooo. I forgot to grab the stroller. Ouch. I didnt even realize it for another hour or so!”

Flanagan explained that losing the stroller wasn’t a big problem, but the tablet inside is really important to his son, Grayson.

“My son is visually impaired and has Down syndrome, so the tablet is an important tool for learning,” Flanagan wrote. “It's part of his daily routine and also helps bring a little peace and calm to him when he needs it.”

“…Like I said, total long shot, but if you happened to have picked it up this afternoon, we would really appreciate it if we could get it back,” Flanagan wrote with a short description of the Samsung Galaxy tablet.

In the comments, several people suggested apps to locate the device, while others stepped up to replace the tablet.

One woman wrote, “I have one your son can have if it doesn't turn up...I even have a foam blue case.”

Flanagan offered updates on the situation throughout the day, and then the next morning, posted an “amazing update.”

His comment was a screenshot of his phone. A Houston woman named Maddie Charlton texted him, “Hi! My mom works at Texas Children’s and she found your stroller and tablet.  I found your name on your Amazon account and found you here.  She can bring it all with her to work tomorrow and you can call her at (phone number redacted) if you want to meet her to pick it up.”

People celebrated with Flanagan in the comments. One person wrote, "That's SO GREAT!!"

Now, KPRC has an “amazing update” as well on this story. Flanagan wrote to KPRC and said Grayson has his beloved tablet again.

“The sweet lady who found our stuff dropped it off at my shop today,” Flanagan wrote to KPRC. “My wife was able to talk with her and thank her. Grayson was very happy.”
