Family reaches settlement with Rodeo after golf cart accident

HOUSTON - Lawyers for a former vice president of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo who was badly injured two years ago have reached a settlement.

Bonnie Herndon suffered a head injury when she was thrown from a modified golf cart driven by a rodeo volunteer.

The accident happened during the Toby Keith concert on opening night in February of 2013. Herndon was being transported to the parking lot when the driver made a quick left turn, throwing her onto her head.

Herndon still remains in a coma from the accident, and the medical bills are expected to run in the millions of dollars.

"We're announcing a confidential settlement, but one that will take care of Bonnie for the rest of her life and take care of her family for the great loss they have suffered," attorney Benny Agosto Jr. said.
