HOUSTON - The family of 25-year-old Jade Walker gathered Thursday to ask for the public's help in identifying the whoever is responsible for her death.

On Aug. 11 in the 4700 block of Oakside Drive, Walker was driving in her vehicle when she was shot in the head by two people, driving a black, four-door vehicle, according to Houston police.

Investigators said they believe the deadly shooting was targeted, as there were just shy of 40 bullet casings at the scene. Walker was struck once in the head and was pronounced dead the next day. Her boyfriend, who was also in the car with her, was not hit.

The pair had just left the boyfriend's mother's house, which is nearby the crime scene, and were going to the store.

Police said there were no witnesses to the shooting and no known surveillance video that could help in the investigation. The only other person who knows what happened the night of the shooting is Walker's boyfriend, who is not talking much to detectives, they said.

Family says she leaves behind a 4-year-old daughter.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to call the Houston police's homicide division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS
