HOUSTON – A family of six is recovering after police said a driver ran a red light and slammed into their car in north Houston.
Police said a man driving a Ford Mustang at 3 a.m. north along the North Freeway at Parker ran a red light and slammed into the family's vehicle.

The mother and father, along with four children ages 11, 9, 8 and 18 months were taken to a hospital in serious condition, police said.
The driver of the Mustang was taken to a hospital in stable condition. Police said a blood test revealed the man was intoxicated.
He is now facing two counts of intoxication assault.
