HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - Fire destroyed a family's home in Northwest Harris County, just months after flooding damaged their previous home.
Investigators say lightning started Sunday night's fire at the home on Township Meadows in the Copperfield Place subdivision.
Three firefighters were taken to the hospital with heat-related emergencies. They're expected to recover.
The homeowner, James Beasley, said he and his wife were headed home when they received a call from their home security alarm company. The company claimed there was a burglary, and the Beasleys told the company to send the police. The Beasleys arrived at their home only to learn it was not a burglary -- but a fire.
James Beasley said they had moved into the house about three months ago. They recently moved from a house that flooded last year.
We're told the family has insurance on the home.
No one was hurt.
