Family, friends worry about missing 14-year-old Katy girl; father found dead near ditch

HOUSTON – Missing now for over 48 hours, with each passing second, family and friends grow more worried about Adriana Coronado.

The 14-year-old has been missing since Saturday.

Bernanda Smith, a family friend said, "To hear that it makes me ill, I haven't eaten all day thinking about the girl."

The teen's father, Cesar Coronado, was found dead near a ditch in Walker County.

Authorities say he had multiple gunshot wounds and his body was badly burned.

His truck was also found burned several miles away in Conroe.

Investigators believe the teen may have been kidnapped by her father's killer.

"We have faith in God, the family and friends are praying for her. And we wait that we can be helped and she comes back OK," explained Lorena Cavasos, the teen's aunt.

Walker County Sheriff Clint McRae said, "Right now we portray that she is certainly in grave danger and we are needing the public's assistance very much so."

An Amber Alert was issued and remains in effect as area law enforcement continues searching for the missing teen.

The Walker County Sheriff's Office and several other agencies are working to find her along with the FBI, who brought in its Child Abduction Rapid Deployment team.

"It makes me real sad thinking about the situation of that little girl. What's happening? Who took her?," explained Smith.
