Family, friends hold vigil for Dickinson Little League coach killed in hit-and-run crash

DICKINSON, Texas – Family and friends honored a Dickinson Little League coach after he was struck and killed while walking to a gas station near his home Sunday morning.

Candles lit up the very place where 24-year-old Adrian Gonzalez once volunteered his time coaching Little League.

On Saturday night, his players lit candles in his memory along with family and friends at a Dickinson barbershop.

“They just left him out there. They know they hit a body,” said Gonzalez’s mother, Erica Penry.

Penry said her son was killed near the 1400 block of FM 528 in what police say was a hit-and-run. Anna Ramirez was Gonzalez’s high school sweetheart.

Ramirez said she and Gonzalez were planning to get married next year.

“I want justice for my fiancé,” she said.

Anyone with information should call Webster police.
