BROOKSHIRE, Texas - It was a picture perfect fall day as temperatures in Houston area dipped into the fifties Sunday.
In Brookshire, truckloads of people spent the day bundled up at Dewberry Farm looking for the perfect pumpkin, while others were just looking for a break from a summer of oppressive heat.
"I like fall," said Stephanie Thapar. "I teach and coach and so I dread driving the bus in the heat. So, I'm excited for this little break we got."
For the first time in months, people all across Houston dusted off their sweaters and jackets and headed outside, finally free of the heat and humidity.
"Makes you feel relieved. You can go outdoors and enjoy it," said Hans Griffin.
At Memorial Park, many runners wore several layers of clothing. For many, the cooler weather was a welcome change.
"I'm going to enjoy it while it's here," said Kay Harnden.
