HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - A teacher at Oleson Elementary School has been accused of inappropriate behavior with a student, and that staff member was removed from the classroom.
"Once the investigation was completed, the Harris County District Attorney's Office filed charges against the teacher," the Aldine Independent School District said. "We take these allegations seriously and have been cooperating with authorities."
"You know you hear this on TV all the time, but it's never going to happen at my school," said Eduardo Gutierrez, whose daughter is in the first grade at Oleson. "It's just scary now, it's very scary."
Gutierrez said the teacher has been out of the classroom for a while and wants to know why parents were just notified of the allegations and investigation on Friday. He and other parents received a phone call from school administrators.
"They knew about this. They should have gotten together and said, 'We need to be proactive, prepare ourselves and tell our parents the truth.' I'm pretty sure Monday morning there is going to be a lot of parents at that school, because they handled it wrong."
