Driver wanted in hit-and-run

HOUSTON – Police are working to find the driver who collided with another vehicle in southwest Houston and kept going.

Houston police said the collision happened on South Gessner Drive at Harwin Road about 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

A driver ran a red light at the intersection and collided with an SUV, investigators said.

Rollover wreck

The SUV flipped onto its side, officials said. The woman driving it was rescued from the wreckage and rushed to Memorial Hermann Hospital. She is expected to recover.

Investigators said the red-light runner did not stop to check on the woman.

Police said they were interviewing witnesses to get a description of the vehicle that hit the SUV and its driver.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
