Driver wanted in deadly downtown hit-and-run accident

HOUSTON – Houston police are investigating after a woman was hit and killed by a car in downtown Houston on June 11.

Police said around 12:15 a.m., a witness reported seeing the woman lying in a moving lane of traffic at 2200 San Jacinto St. when a white BMW four-door sedan ran her over.

The driver stopped a short distance down the road, got out of the car, looked at the car and then left the scene.

Police said the woman, who was homeless, had been found lying in the street on several other occasions.
