HOUSTON - The businesses near Discovery Green Park and the George R. Brown Convention Center will have their game faces on this week.
They are expecting an economic boost from the additional traffic the Super Bowl crowds are bringing to the area.
From stocking up to starting early, restaurants and bars outside in downtown are getting game-day ready.
"We've put together a pretty good game plan, and we're well staffed and ready to go," Mike Raymond, owner of Reserve 101, said.
It will be their Super Bowl of entertainment.
"We've been preparing for months, but there's no getting prepared, we have a million people coming to town," Veronica Silva, general manager of The Dirt Bar, said.
The countdown to kickoff is on and will last all week.
The businesses are hoping for a field goal, but are prepared for a fumble.
"Just make sure that in an emergency, we're able to get the product that we need," Mike Cummings, general manager of Guadalajara Del Centro, said.
They're saying ready or not, here it comes.
"It's going to be a madhouse. We're excited. We're nervous. You never know what's going to come," Silva said.
