HOUSTON - A man is facing charges after he threatened to go to a government office with a gun, investigators said.

Curtis Martin, 53, has been charged with making a terroristic threat.

Department of Homeland Security officials said Martin went to the Social Security Administration Office in the 3100 block of Smith Street on Monday and became irate while discussing his denial of benefits.

Investigators said that Martin told employees that he was going to get a gun and rob people and come back to the office with the gun.

Security guards at the office tried to detain Martin, but he bolted out the door.

Homeland Security officers captured Martin a few minutes later and about seven blocks away from the Social Security office.

Martin has been banned from going to any Social Security office in the future.

Martin's criminal history includes assault and drug charges.
