Deputy injured in motorcycle wreck

HOUSTON - An off-duty Harris County sheriff's deputy was injured in a wreck in north Houston on Tuesday.

Houston police said the wreck happened in the HOV lane of the North Freeway near Little York about 2:30 p.m.

Investigators said the deputy was on his personal motorcycle. He was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital in good condition. Officials said he suffered a possible broken arm and cuts and bruises.

Officials have also not released if any other vehicles were involved in the wreck.

The cause of the wreck is under investigation.

Traffic was backed up in the area.
