Deputies: 2 gunmen robbed gas station for cigarettes, money in Conroe

CONROE, Texas – Two men robbed a gas station Sunday morning of cigarettes and cash-register money at gunpoint, deputies said.

The robbery was reported at 5:50 a.m. at a Shell gas station in the 10900 block of FM 1484.

Montgomery County deputies said two men entered the store with handguns, while a third man held the door open. The store clerk told deputies that one gunman pointed the gun at him and demanded money and then both suspects demanded Newport cigarettes behind the counter.

Deputies said the clerk put the money and cigarettes into the gunmen’s backpack and the suspects fled on foot.

Deputies said there were several customers inside the station during the robbery, but no one was injured.

Deputies said there had been several other robberies in the Montgomery County area and the description of the suspects were the same. The three suspects are still on the loose.

The investigation is continuing.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s office ask if anyone has information regarding the robbery to call 936-760-5876. The Montgomery County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward as much as $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.
