ARLINGTON, Texas – A slow-speed chase through the Dallas area on Thursday morning ended with a recreational vehicle in flames on an interstate.
Authorities said they were chasing the RV because the man driving it was accused of shooting his wife in nearby Hunt County.
Police said the chase headed down Interstate 30 before officers used spike strips to flatten the RV’s tires. The vehicle stopped on the interstate near Arlington and burst into flames.
Authorities said the man’s two children were in the RV during the chase. They were rescued from the fiery aftermath.
The driver of the RV was found dead inside the vehicle.
