Motive in deadly shooting unknown

HOUSTON - One man is dead and two others are on the run after a deadly shooting in north Houston.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Mill Stream Lane and Imperial Valley Drive.

Houston police arrived to find a man shot and killed in the road. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Officers say the victim lives in the neighborhood.

Police say the man stopped his vehicle and for unknown reasons got out of his minivan and was shot and killed.

Investigators do not know the shooters' motive.

Witnesses told investigators they saw two unknown men running away from the scene. Police describe them as Hispanic and in their early 20s.

Police say they could have been driving a 2000-model, silver or tan Chevrolet S10 pickup truck.
