HOUSTON - Officers were working to figure out what lead up to a deadly shooting in a northeast Houston neighborhood Friday night.
Police said a group of people were in the street on Grey Oaks and Clear River drives about 11 p.m. when two men got into an argument about money.
According to officers one of them pulled out a gun and started shooting.
"We heard eight or nine gunshots. It sounded like some fireworks," said neighbor Debrah Smith. "We walked outside and heard some screaming. We knew then that somebody got shot."
The victim was shot at least once. He was taken to Ben Taub Hospital where he later died.
Officers have a person of interest in custody for questioning but would not say if that person was the shooter.
