Courier pistol-whipped in robbery involving armored car, FBI Houston says

Courier drew his weapon, shots were exchanged, authorities say

HOUSTON – A courier was pistol-whipped in a robbery involving an armored car, FBI Houston officials said.

It happened around 12:30 p.m. Friday in the 7600 block of Office City Drive.

Authorities said an armored car was servicing a meat market when the courier was jumped and pistol-whipped by a gunman.

The courier drew his weapon and shots were exchanged, authorities said. It's unknown if either of them were hit. Authorities said the attacker did not get away with any cash.

Authorities said the courier was taken to a hospital to be treated.

The attacker, who is described by FBI officials as a black male who wore a hoodie and a hat, got in a vehicle with a driver and left, authorities said. The vehicle is described as a black vehicle with paper tags.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS. Authorities said a reward up to $5,000 is being offered.
