Company fixes woman's damaged roof

Tree fell on Prajeres Cisneros' roof; Ideal Roofing donates repairs

HOUSTON - Ideal Roofing fixed the roof of a single grandmother's home on Tuesday after a tree fell on it.

Prajeres Cisneros, 75, couldn't hold back her tears on April 29 when the rain stopped.

"It's real hard and I was so scared. I depressed," she said.

A large tree fell on the roof of her home, which she's lived in for 45 years.

"It was devastating to see it cause it's my house. Even if it's an old house, it's still my house. It's the only one I have," said Cisneros.

"It was the personal level," said Jim Hardwick with Ideal Roofing. "As a person, you want to help somebody, but as a company, you want to give back also."

Hardwick contacted Local 2, asking how to reach Cisneros.

"This is something that can be taken care of for her so she can keep doing -- which is a great thing as well," he said.

"I was so thankful because without y'all, I wouldn't have gotten any help. Without Channel 2, I wouldn't have gotten any help," added Cisneros.

The company donated the repairs, usually worth about $3,000.
