Coast Guard suspends search for man who went overboard on ferry in Galveston

GALVESTON, Texas – The Coast Guard suspended its search Thursday for a man who went overboard on the ferry that runs between Galveston and Bolivar.

Around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, authorities said the walk-on passenger, a Hispanic man in his early 30s wearing a cream jacket, green shirt and blue jeans, went overboard.

Multiple agencies were involved in the 23-hour search near Seawolf Park.

Officials said more than 259 square miles were searched.
