HOUSTON - The second time was the charm for three burglars who targeted a north Houston CVS Friday morning.

Police said the suspects hit the store on Irvington and Cavalcade twice in one night.

The first time, Houston police said they could not get past the burglar-proof gate to get inside, so they left.

Police responded to the scene around 2 a.m. and the store manager came to lock the doors.

Around 4:45 a.m., the thieves returned with tools.  They were able to pry open the doors and get past the gate.

Once inside, authorities said they took cigarettes.

Police said the three suspects look and were dressed  just like the robbers who struck a Foodarama store last week. Those robbers also took cigarettes.

Investigators said they believe both break-ins are connected.
