Child, 5, says she was sexually assaulted by teacher at day care

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – A Spring mother says she and her 5-year-old daughter are living a nightmare after the girl allegedly was sexually assaulted at her day care last week.

The alleged perpetrator?

One of the teachers at Kids R Kids Learning Academy of The Woodlands.

"You just never think it would happen to you or your child," says the woman, who does not want to be identified. "I'm afraid years from now she'll still remember the incident, have nightmares. I definitely think it's going to affect her in the long run."

The mother says she discovered the alleged assault last Friday after her daughter took a bath and complained of pain in her private area.

She took her daughter to a hospital and says the little girl not only described the alleged assault inside a school bathroom but other acts she claims the male teacher committed.

"She also said that he exposed himself. And she described the way it looked," says the mother. "And she said that she told him to stop and she was crying, and he told her to be quiet."

In a statement from the day care's corporate office in Atlanta, a spokesperson told Channel 2 "The accused teacher has been taken out of the classroom and placed on administrative leave until investigation is complete. We have talked to all staff and are currently viewing videotape from the alleged day."

The spokesperson says the video will be handed over to Montgomery County Sheriff's investigators tomorrow.

The day care says in their viewing of the video from last Thursday and Friday, the teacher in question was never in the same classroom as the girl.
