A woman told police that she was looking for something in one of the parking spaces when the off-duty deputy told her that someone was going to park in that spot.

Surveillance video showed two people fighting outside the nightclub. One of the people appeared to slam the other person onto the pavement.

Investigators said the deputy was treated for a broken hand and then charged with assault with bodily force. However, officials at the Houston jail said Tuesday that charges against the deputy have been dropped.

A spokesman for the Harris County District Attorney's Office said that the incident remains under review and that prosecutors have not filed charges.

Court records showed that the woman involved in the incident was charged with failure to stop and give information.

Police said the woman suffered no visible injuries.

Officials at the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement Monday that the deputy had been placed on non-law enforcement duty pending the outcome of the case and an internal investigation.
