Bruno Mars takes the stage at Club Nomadic

HOUSTON – More than 8,500 people were set to arrive at Club Nomadic Friday night for the venue's second concert of Super Bowl week.

Bruno Mars headlined Life Watr's "Art After Dark Event."

The night kicked off with red carpet appearances by athletes and celebrities like Terry Bradshaw, Dak Prescott and Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton, who is from Katy.

John Legend and Harry Connick Jr. were both scheduled to make appearances at the show.

Long lines wrapped around the building, with some patrons waiting up to three hours to be let inside.

Dolores Gonzales waited two hours.

"Oh, it's worth every minute. We'll wait longer... we don't care," she said.

Doors opened on time around 9 p.m., and there was no shortage of Bruno Mars fans gathered outside.

"For Bruno Mars, you can't go wrong. He's like 'the' performer right now. He's hot, his music is jumpin' and I mean, it's all about Bruno," said Jennifer Cazares, who was attending the concert with her family.

Taylor Swift is set to take the stage at Club Nomadic Saturday night, the temporary venue's final performance before it is dismantled.
