By Joel Eisenbaum - Investigative Reporter

HOUSTON - High water in Brays Bayou caused flooding issues in the Bellaire and Meyerland areas Tuesday.

Just trying to get in Meyerland was a monumental task. KPRC 2's Joel Eisenbaum talked to a resident near Brays Bayou who was driving on the bike path in an effort to get home.

Joey Scamardi starting realizing there was trouble early Monday evening. He said water came up and started to flood everything so he moved his cars up to higher ground.

But Scamardi's attempts to push back the encroaching bayou and rainwater were futile.

"Everything you can walk on down here had water on it – two or three inches," said Scamardi.

His Meyerland home flooded Tuesday even though it stayed bone dry during Hurricane Ike and Tropical Storm Allison.

Resident Toby Boenigs' $90,000 mobility van flooded despite his best efforts to keep the water out.

He told KPRC 2 he believes all the gadgetry in his vehicle is no longer working.
