HOUSTON - Houston police say three armed men jumped through the drive-thru window at a McDonald's near the Willowbrook Mall to try and rob the business overnight.

It happened at the McDonald's on Highway 249 near FM 1960 in northwest Houston.

Police say once the three men got inside the business, they demanded cash but for some reason, they got scared and tried to leave. But the sliding glass window at the drive-thru automatically locks, and detectives say the men were forced to fire their guns to shoot out the window to make their escape.

Police said the men left the reported stolen truck in the drive-thru and ran way from the restaurant.

HPD crime scene units spent hours overnight collecting evidence including fingerprints. Officials say there are video cameras on the property.

No one was hurt during the crime, and police say the men did not take off with any money.
