HOUSTON -  It has been more than a year since a father was gunned down in the driveway of his southeast Houston home.

On October 13, 2012, 45-year-old John Martinez, an HISD maintenance supervisor and father of four, was confronted by three armed suspects in front of his southeast Houston home.

"It's something you see on TV or in movies," said Norma Martinez, John's widow. "You don't think it's going to happen to you. It's been the most difficult year of our lives."

Norma is hoping a billboard on the Gulf Freeway will bring attention to her husband's murder as the search continues for the men responsible.

"Maybe somebody has heard something down the line from these criminals, and they may want to come forth," said Norma. "I don't want his death to be in vain."

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS.
