The charge comes after Caleb Liepold, also of Baytown, was arrested and charged for assault and violation of a protective order for alleged actions during the same incident in the 3300 block of Michigan in late February.

Police said in February that the fight was over a woman whom Liepold had previously dated. She had a protective order against him and the fight began after she was assaulted when Liepold came to her home to pick up his belongings.

In that incident, police say Liepold stabbed Garcia in the head. Garcia was hospitalized. Police said at the time of the incident that he would be charged for his part in the fight once he received medical treatment.

Leipold claims he stabbed Garcia several times in self-defense.
