HAGERSTOWN, Md. - A Batman impersonator in Maryland who visited sick children died Sunday night after he was struck by his own Batmobile.
According to NBC Washington, Lenny B. Robinson, 51, was driving eastbound on Interstate 70 near Hagerstown when he experienced engine trouble and stopped partially in the fast lane. While Robinson was checking the engine, a car hit his Batmobile. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other car was not injured.
Robinson impersonated Batman for years. In 2012, The Washington Post reported that he spent more than $25,000 of his own money on Batman-related items every year that he gave away to kids.
