HOUSTON – Authorities said they are searching for a man who went missing while swimming Tuesday night near Sargent.
According to the U.S. Coast Guard, 25-year-old Adareshea Williams disappeared while swimming with a friend near an inlet of East Matagorda Bay.
Williams was described as a black man, 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing about 180 pounds and has tattoos. He was last seen wearing orange shorts.
The Coast Guard reported that a woman who was swimming with Williams lost sight of him off Caney Creek Beachfront. She was able to swim to the opposite side and called for help.
A helicopter and boat were sent to the area to search for Williams, but he was not found.
