HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - The Harris County Pct. 4 Constable's Office is asking for the public's help in finding a man wanted in connection with a burglary.
Investigators received a DNA hit confirmation May 25 leading to charges being filed on a suspect from a 2013 burglary investigation.
The original burglary happened in the 20600 block of Jasperwood Drive. Authorities said a citizen reported that his firearm stolen from his residence.
DNA evidence collected by investigators was sent to the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences for analysis. The Constable's Office said the suspect's DNA from the original 2013 scene was matched to a recent hit in the Combined DNA Index System Database.
Investigators filed a second-degree felony burglary habitation charge on Rain Lee Johnson Jr., 21, based on the DNA match, authorities said.
"Rain Lee Johnson Jr., is currently wanted by law enforcement," Constable Mark Herman said. "If anyone knows his whereabouts, you are urged to contact the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office at 281-376-3472, or your local law enforcement."
