HOUSTON – AT&T has set up a website that will allow anyone stateside, regardless of their carrier, to register the cellphone number of family members and friends who are an AT&T wireless customer in Puerto Rico to let them know they are trying to contact them when service is restored, the company said in a news release.
They added that whenever service in Puerto Rico has been restored, the friend or family member who registered the person on the island will be notified through email.

“We are committed to the restoration and recovery efforts for the people of Puerto Rico," AT&T Communications CEO John Donovan said. "With this website, we are helping them reach family and friends in the U.S. as services restore. Critical help has been arriving this weekend and more is on the way.”
Donovan was aboard one of the relief flights that flew into San Juan on Saturday. He went to help assess damage and develop the recovery plans.
Along with generators, water, food and supplies, satellite devices to support first responders in the hardest hit areas were also flown in, with hundreds more on the way.
The company said it will be automatically issuing credits and waiving additional fees to give unlimited data, talk and texts to its wireless customers in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands through Sept. 29, adding that it will be extending payment dates for impacted prepaid customers with voice and text service as well.
