HOUSTON - Arson officials are investigating a fire that destroyed a house in southwest Houston.

The fire broke out around 8:20 p.m. Thursday at the home on Croker Ridge and Ridgecroft.

When firefighters arrived at the home they found it fully engulfed in flames.

The heat from the fire was so intense that it damaged the houses on both sides of it.

The house was abandoned, so arson crews are trying to figure out if it was deliberately set.

No firefighters were hurt battling the fire.
