Armored truck driver blocks pregnant woman with contractions, couple says

HOUSTON – What was supposed to be a just an ordinary trip to a Family Dollar Store on Maxey Road, turned into something a father to be would rather forget.

“I'm really angry and aggravated,” Cyprian Soto Jr said.

Soto had stopped at the store to grab a snack for his wife, who is seven months pregnant, and was in the car with him.

They were on their way home from the hospital. He took her in the store with him because she was having what she thought were contractions.

On his way out of Family Dollar, Soto said a Dunbar Armored truck pulled up behind his car and boxed him in.

“The first guard that got out was a man and I asked him, excuse me, if there any way you could move that truck so I could get out? My wife is in pain and holding her stomach." He said, 'yes sir, I can do that for you,'” Soto said.

Soto said the guard asked the female driver to move the truck before going inside the store. Soto claims the driver just sat there and refused to move even after he asked her twice.

“Ma'am, can you please move the truck? She is just sitting there laughing, smiling, with a big smile on her face and holding up the phone pointing it at me. (She) never moved the truck,” Soto said.

Soto snapped a picture of the truck with the license plate after he claims he had to drive up onto the sidewalk to maneuver his way out of the parking spot.

“The lady continues laughing like this and holding the phone and just smiling and laughing at me,” Soto said.

Channel 2 reached out to Dunbar yesterday afternoon and again today for a comment. We are still waiting for a response.
