Armed man fires shot during smoke shop robbery

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - The Harris County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man accused of robbing a business in west Harris County.

It happened Monday at the 69 Smoke Shop on the 4000 block of State Highway 6.

The robber came in the store after 10 a.m. and pulled a silver firearm from his waistband, according to authorities. Investigators say the man fired the gun towards the store's back room.

Then the man leaped over the counter, shot at the cash register and demanded the employee give him all the money in the register and safe.

Officials say the robber then took the employee into the store's office, fired several more rounds into the wall and locked him in the bathroom.

Investigators say the man left with cash and multiple boxes of cigarettes.

The robber is described as a Hispanic man and is between 5 feet 10 inches tall and 6 feet tall. Authorities say the man weighs between 175-180 pounds, has a short buzzed haircut and a goatee. He is also said to speak English and Spanish and he has several tattoos, including a teardrop on his right cheek.
