Amber Alert canceled: Missing 11-month-old boy found safe

HOUSTON - An 11-month-old boy was found safe after police said he disappeared with the family's live-in nanny.

Police said Cy-Keitha Freeman took the child without the mother's permission on Monday from the family's apartment on DeSoto at Antoine.

Detectives said Freeman would only give the mother vaugue information as to where she was or when she would bring the child home.

Detectives said the boy's mother called police Tuesday when Freeman again did not bring the child home. An Amber Alert was then issued for the pair.

Three hours after police issued the alert, Freeman showed up at the family's complex with the child. Freeman hurled expletives and refused to answer questions as she was placed into the back of a patrol car.

A woman who drove Freeman and the child to the complex said she had no idea police were looking for the pair.

"She left to go look for a job yesterday, but she came to my house and I was bringing her back," said Delnisha Fegans. "We was (sic) actually on our way back here to drop the baby off so I could go to the hospital and that's when we heard about the kidnap charges and everything."

Paramedics examined the little boy and said he was in good health.

No word yet on whether Freeman will face charges.
