All mainlanes of U.S. 290 at Jones Road open after 18-wheeler fire

HOUSTON - A heavy truck fire shut down all mainlanes of the Northwest Freeway at Jones Road Thursday afternoon. The lanes reopened about 9:20 p.m.

According to Houston Transtar, the incident happened about 4:22 p.m. There were no other vehicles involved. As of 7:30 p.m., one eastbound mainlane had reopened. 

The Texas Department of Transportation said the 18-wheeler was hauling bread.
