After mother's fatal stabbing, missing 6-year-old found with father

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – A missing 6-year-old girl was found safe after her mother was killed inside their Connecticut home.

Authorities said Aylin Hernandez went missing from her Bridgeport home early Friday morning.

Police say they went to the home to investigate reports of a dispute.

When they got there, they found the girl's mother dead and a friend of the victim with multiple stab wounds.

"This is horrible. The scene there is horrendous. Horrendous," chief A.J. Perez said.

The second stabbing victim is expected to recover.

Pennsylvania state police found the girl with her father, Oscar Hernandez, near Altoona Friday.

It's unclear where the two were heading.

Oscar has been taken into custody.

Police said Oscar fled the home following the stabbings.
