911 dispatcher responds to call from daughter as home destroyed by fire

MADISON COUNTY, Texas – A woman who works as a police dispatcher in Madison County received a 911 call from her daughter as their home went up in flames on Saturday.

Layla Wray remained calm while instructing her daughter and family to leave the house, even going into "full-mom mode" and quelling a fight between her children.

Wray's daughter called and said their house was on fire, but by the time firefighters arrived, the entire home was destroyed.

The family made it out of the house safely, but according to reports, they did not have fire insurance coverage.

Officials have not determined the cause of the fire.

The family is accepting donations to help cover the costs.

"911 what's your emergency?"

"Mommy, mommy!"

"What?"

"It's Cassidy, the house is on fire!"

"Your house is on fire? Cassidy?"

"Yes."

"OK, OK, OK, what's going on, tell me what's happening."

"Mommy...(inaudible)"

"Alright, alright, calm down, calm down."

"(Crying)"

"I've already got somebody in route, OK?"
