9 children taken from Spring-area home after investigation

Headline Goes Here

SPRING, Texas - Nine children on Wednesday were removed from a Spring-area home after an investigation, according to authorities.

Montgomery County Precinct 3 deputy constables said they were called to a home in 1600 block of Julia Park Lane after reports that several children who lived there had not been seen for a while.

Investigators said nine children were found inside the home. A 13-month-old child was taken to Texas Children's Hospital for treatment and the others were placed in the custody of Child Protective Services, investigators said.

The parents of the children were arrested and charged with child endangerment, officials said. Their identities were not immediately released.

More charges are likely after officials said the children were living in a dirty, unsanitary, very unhealthy environment in the home.

The family has lived at the residence for at least nine years, authorities said.

None of the children were enrolled in school, according to investigators.
