7-Eleven setting its sights on Houston

HOUSTON – 7-Eleven has its sights set on coming Houston.

7-Eleven, Inc. said in a press release that it aims to buy up 1,108 convenience stores in 18 states, including Florida, the mid-Atlantic, the northeast and central Texas.

Joe DePinto, president and chief executive officer of 7-Eleven, Inc., said in the release that the company is looking for “entry” into the Bayou City, as well as creating a “strong presence in Corpus Christi and across South Texas.”

After the acquisition, 7 Eleven, Inc. said it will have 9,815 stores in the United States and Canada. If completed, this will one of the largest acquisitions in the company’s history, the release said.

7-Eleven, Inc. said the transaction is expected to close in the second half of this year.
