4 arrested after shots fired at officers in Third Ward, police say

HOUSTON – Four men are facing charges after authorities said they fired at officers at 2118 Sampson Street around 3 a.m. on July 10.

Lionel Cox, 18, and Raymond Pace, 18, are charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Noah Davis, 22, is charged with aggravated assault against a public servant and possession with intent to deliver. Jerod White is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to authorities.

Houston Police Department officers were on duty in an unmarked police vehicle at the location when several people fired shots at the vehicle, according to authorities.

The vehicle was struck, but the officers were not struck and drove away from the location, police said.

At the time, two men were detained, but they were released later.

After an investigation, Cox, Pace, Davis and White were identified as the people involved in the shooting. They were arrested and charged.
