A third person has been arrested in the case of a teen found murdered in the Sam Houston National Forest.

Ricardo Leonel Campos Lara was arrested Thursday for the murder of Klein Forest High School student Josael Guevara, whose body was found September 23 near FM 2929 at Four Notch Road in Walker County.

Lara was taken into custody by Walker County investigators and members of the Houston Police Department's Major Offenders Unit in the 6100 Block of Dashwood Street.

Lara, along with 17-year-old Jose Leonel Bonilla-Romero and 22-year-old Christian Zamora who are already in custody, are charged with murder.

The Walker County Sheriff's Office said the 16-year-old Guevara died from blunt force trauma and that his body was badly mutilated with a machete. The victim's Klein Forest ID card was found at the scene, as well as another piece of evidence that investigators said led them to the suspect's vehicle.

Bond for Lara was set at $1 million.
